If anyone has seen the movie Revenge of the Nerds, you can discuss it here. And here is my review of the film.

Anyway, the first film in my series of reviews is what I believe to be is a Cult Classic film called Revenge of the Nerds. Now for those who don't know the film, Revenge of the Nerds is about two nerds named Louis and Gilbert, who set off in their greatest adventure: College.

Yes, college. But what's college without fraternities? Of course, they join the Nerd fraternity called The Tri-Lambs. Where they meet a nerd who digs chicks yet picks his nose named Booger, a gay dude named Lamar, a dude with poofy hair named Pointdexter, a Japanese guy named Takashi, a nerd girl whose name I don't remember, and for some reason, a kid is in a fraternity.

Okay, before I go any futher, I need to ask this, how did a kid get into a fraternity? Was the dean at least concerned about this sort of thing? Then again, in this fucking film, people hate nerds.

But moving on, yes, most of the other characters including the jocks hate the nerds. But speaking of the jocks, these are the guys who hate the nerds the most. And guess what? Their coach is none of other than of all people, John Goodman.

Nope, I'm not shitting you guys. Before Roseanne and the Coen Brothers movies, Goodman got his start in Revenge of the Nerds. Surprising, no?

Anyway, the nerds decide to get revenge by simply placing cameras in the dorm rooms of the girls, puts something itchy in the jocks' underwear, and other shit happens. Like a few competiting games and such. And a girl falls in love with a nerd, jocks trash the Nerds fraternity house, Gilbert takes a stand, the nerds, everyone wins, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Now, if there's anyone here who likes the film. I'm sorry but I became unimpressed with the film, very unimpressed. Go ahead and flame me, but this is my opinion. Allow to explain the problems with the film.

For starters, the characters just plain suck. The nerds and the jocks are probably the most annoying. What annoying qualities do they have? For the nerds, their laughs, their lines, just about everything about the nerds makes them annoying. Same case with the jocks, now I'm not saying that because I don't like jocks in general but the jocks in the movie just suck for various reasons which I won't bother to go through.

Now, the script isn't that good. I mean, the only good thing about it is that there are a few quotable phrases. ("I drink to that.")

The thing about the film is that, I felt that it was trying too hard to be like the next Animal House. Forgive me for the comparison, it's probably stupid but that's how I felt like when I was watching the film. I mean, if John Landis was actually offered to direct Revenge of the Nerds and turned it down, I can see why he didn't want to do it.

Now there are a few good things though. John Goodman and Bernie Casey did a pretty job given the material they had. The choice of music is pretty good, that Nerds theme song is pretty catchy.

I'm sorry to everyone who likes the film but I just didn't like the film, I thought I would but I didn't.
