Now don't let the title fool you. It's almost as ridiculous as it sounds XD
For the past few months or so, I had an interest in doing a parody to "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" only it being a Studio Ghibli edition.
Now what version of the story am I parodying? The parody follows all 3 source materials. The book, the 2005 film as well as the 1971 film..
Now the story to the parody follows the book very closely in the last two acts of the story. However the first part of the story follows something completely different.
Summary of the story: Kiki has been able to keep her family well fed thanks to her Flying Delivery Service. But with the decline in the economy, hard times fall on Kiki and her family.
It's just then that Kiki discovers the secret of a new delivery factory down the street that belongs to the great magician Howl. The success of Howl's factory is causing Kiki to go out of business with Howl's magic to deliver things faster.
One day, when Howl sends out 5 golden seals out into the world, Kiki is given the opportunity of a lifetime to set foot inside Howl's amazing factory along with 4 bratty children.
What surprises will be found? Only time will tell.
Now it's time to reveal the cast:
-The Adults:
Howl- Willy Wonka
Sophie- Mrs. Bucket
Kamaji- Grandpa Joe
Lin- Mrs. Beauregarde
Gigo- Mr. Teevee
Lady Eboshi- Mrs. Salt
Yubaba- Mrs. Gloop
-The Kids:
Kiki- Charlie Bucket
Kumiko- Violet Beauregarde
Chihiro- Veruca Salt
Yubaba's Baby- Augustus Gloop
Markl- Mike Teevee
While some of these might sound completely OOC, just remember that this story is being written all for good fun and that the story is not canon to the original source material it follows.
Now here's where the fun part comes in: The story is being written in script format. Meaning that when the story is finished, roles will be assigned to professional actors on the internet for an online radio play.
Complete with actors to match the talents of the actors from the English dubs =D
Christmas break has just started. So the script may be finished within the 3 weeks I have. However, production will be put on hold from December 26-28.
